Hyundai Staria 2024 - Large MPV with hybrid engine

The MPV model adds a hybrid powertrain option, including a 1.6 turbocharged gasoline engine and an electric motor, with a total capacity of 242 horsepower.

Korean car brand Hyundai adds a hybrid powertrain option for Staria in the domestic market. The new powertrain on the Staria is a self-charging hybrid, providing greater power and more fuel economy than the 2.2 diesel and 3.5 V6 gasoline engines.

The interior design is similar to the standard Staria, but the instrument cluster and 10.25" entertainment screen have a separate interface for the Hybrid version.

The hybrid powertrain on the new Staria includes a 1.6 turbocharged gasoline engine combined with an electric motor on the front axle, producing a total capacity of 242 horsepower.

The new powertrain on the Staria 2024 is a combination of a Smartstream 1.6 turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor and a 6-speed automatic transmission transmitting power to the front wheels. The gasoline engine produces 178 horsepower and maximum torque of 265 Nm, while the electric motor has a capacity of 72 horsepower and 304 Nm of torque.

The combined power of the hybrid system is 242 horsepower and maximum torque of 367 Nm. The large MPV model weighs 2,220 kg. After launching the Staria Hybrid is the most powerful Staria model to date, surpassing the 3.5 V6 internal combustion engine, while providing fuel consumption of only 7.7 liters/100 km of mixed driving.

Apart from the engine, Staria's hybrid version's appearance remains unchanged. The car is equipped with LED headlights placed low and prominent with a full-width LED strip positioned above the grille. The Cargo version has the option of 2 or 3 rows of seats. The passenger Tourer version offers 9 or 11 seats.

The interior remains unchanged with a digital dashboard and a 10.25-inch entertainment touchscreen with a hybrid-specific interface. Automatic air conditioning system, front seats with integrated heating and ventilation. USB-C charging port, smart lock system, automatic sliding door. Safety features with ADAS driving assistance system.

As planned, Hyundai Staria Hybrid will be sold first in the domestic market. The Korean car company has not revealed the price of Staria Hybrid. While the Cargo version costs 25,700 USD and the Tourer version costs 27,400 USD.
